Sarah Dobai

Here are some stills created by Sarah Dobai in 2005 very much like Crewdson in the way that they appear to be a movie but they aren't. They are however hired actors playing roles similar to fiction. The sets are constructed and attention is taken to detail. The images are made to address intimacy and alienation in the 20th century as well as dealing with consciousness and memory. The 56 still of this exhibit were put together in a film and shown in three different ways so as to appear unfixed as is the subject matter. For a really great description of this by Esther Windsor go here.
