Sebastiao Salgado

Deborah Mc Duff during the graduating class critiques made me aware of a Brazilian social documentary photojournalist named Sebastiao Salgado. His images are riveting and full of emotion. Wow.... The bottom one to me is one of the most powerful images that I've ever seen.

Rineke Dijkstra

I saw an exhibit by Dutch photographer Rineke Dijkstra at the MOMA a few years ago where she photographed a girl in a chair through her growing up years. Love the beach series too.

Vibeke Tandberg

Last but not least from  the "Another Girl, another Planet" exhibit is Vibeke Tandberg.

Vibeke is known for her visual photo montages - mixing up friends parts with herself. In the work below she has added herself in the images with herself.

I love these images. They are filled with emotion and with a world I do not know.

Liza May Post

To quote from this website

"Liza May Post (1965, Amsterdam, NL) is a Dutch photographer and filmmaker. Her work focuases on the psychological dimensions behind human behavior. Her sceneries are highly stylized, taking great care of costumes and settings. The characters in Liza May Post's films are isolated, following strange, irrational choreographies. Their interaction is limited. They seem isolated in their own worlds. The atmosphere that Post evokes in her films is that of a dream. Absurdity of human existence and existential anguish play a recurring role in her work."
